Samantha (Sam) & Charley live in beautiful coastal region of Oregon.
They live on a fairly large parcel of land where their Siberian Huskies have the run of the outdoors as well as in their home.
Their Sibes live a very comfortable life where they are definitely spoiled and completely loved.

In their own words “The Siberian Husky is the very LAST breed we will EVER be owned by!”

Sam got started with breeding, raising and handling dogs at a very early age in Orchard Park, New York.
When she was just a toddler she was introduced to the breeding world.
Her Father (John) and his Sister (Joan) co-owned a 150 acre kennel of Irish Setters. Her Father and Aunt absolutely loved the breed and did everything possible to produce the most beautiful show/companion Irish setters available to animal lovers…..people came from all over the globe to acquire these lovely red amazing dogs!
It was the responsibility of all their children (Aunt Joan had too many children to count…..(last count was 13)…..and Sam’s Mother & Father had 3 children….Patricia…..Samantha….and James), to maintain & clean the kennels, train and teach the adults, and to socialize the puppies.
As the human children grew older many of the kids grew farther and farther away from the business at hand……but not Sam……..she was there religiously to keep the dogs clean, trained, safe & sound. Sam never shirked her responsibilities!

As Sam grew, she knew this was not just a passing fancy in her life…….she wanted to continue her Fathers & Aunts work. This was her passion.
As she grew up, she knew breeding, raising, training & handling dogs was what she wanted to do.
Sam went to college for 6 years to become a Veterinarian…..all the while she got married, and gave birth to 3 of the most wonderful sons she could have ever asked for!
She moved to Texas with her 3 sons after her marriage dissolved AND just 4 months prior to completion of her schooling to become a Veterinarian.
Don’t worry, she got a very good position as a Team Pharmacy manager….and continues to enjoy that position to this day.

After moving to Texas with her 3 boys she had an aching need to add to her boys lives the enjoyment that only a dog can bring, knowing what it did for her life while growing up.

She got each of the boys their own Labrador retriever……..All females: Lace, Ginger & Pepper.

Well that should be the end of the story…..but no….there’s more…..

A friend of a friend told her that there was a man that was looking to stud out his Male Labs to a few very select & perfect pedigreed females.
Sam’s girls had the best Pedigree’s around and HE actually contacted SAM……..Sam agreed to allow 2 of her girls to be studded by the males…..they had seven litters through those years….and then…..Sam got that old feeling back……..she KNEW what she wanted to do, AGAIN.
Between his males and Sam’s females…..They had THE best Labs available!
As Sam says, “ We only thought we would get Reds, Blacks & Yellows, nobody thought, least of all me, that we would get a brindle with blue eyes…..now THAT’s unique for a Lab….I was like…..where’d that come from??”

Once Sam’s boys grew up and started moving out on their own….they started taking ‘their dogs’ with them. What was she supposed to do?.....she did tell them that the dogs were theirs…….and in all honesty they were.
Just like Sam…..the boys were responsible for the care and up-bringing of not only their girls….but the resulting pups.
Sam’s kids proved to be the best in handling, training and socializing……just like their Momma.

Just before the last of the boys decided to grow up and move away…..Sam met the most remarkable man….Charley! (Unfortunately he lived in Oregon)…..She thought…..he loves kids (OMG)…..he loves dogs (OMG)…….and he loves her! TADA…..CHARLEY was the man of her dreams!
Now that Sam’s boy’s had all grown and gone…..it was time to move on herself.

Once Sam got to Oregon….she knew something was missing……DUH…..a dog……..but this time…..not just any dog……..she & Charley searched for probably a good year before deciding what it was they wanted….Charley, living in Oregon his whole life, had always wanted a pure bred Northern breed….but which one? ………Then, one day Charley showed Sam a picture of this little grayish/white girl with a circle of dark around her eyes that led right down to her tail…….a SIBERIAN HUSKY…….They went to meet her when she was just 2 weeks old…and they were both HOOKED.
This little girl just had to be a part of their family FOREVER!
Then something miraculous happened, a ‘potato chip’ affect……”you can never have just one” as Sam says.

And so the story continues.

Charley grew up with dogs his whole life……..usually Hines 57’s……but he did love the dogs completely and always made sure they were loved and cared for completely.
No dog in Charley’s life ever went without…..love and attention was his highest priority for the dogs in his family.
Charley didn’t know what to make of Sam’s ambitions when she first moved to his home state to be with him……but he always believed in her & her dream.
Now many years later……..Charley is not only a part of that dream…….he has made himself a complete partner in the greatest adventure of both of their lives!
The Siberian Husky!

Once they began adding more Sibes to their home and decided that with Sam’s background and Charley’s belief in Sam……they had to come up with a name for their kennel.
“It seems almost everyone that has a kennel, names their kennels either after their dogs, or uses their own names.
We wanted something different!” According to Sam; “We thought of the perfect name, something we think acknowledges what we are all about”.
In Greek symbols (Not Greek letters, which is totally different), the symbol for O is Phi. The symbol for X is Chas.
Hence the name O’s & X’s (instead of X’s & O’s……Hugs and kisses….The name for their Kennel in Greek symbols means Kisses & Hugs).

They have since added 10 more Siberian Huskies to their ‘Pack’.
Sam’s dream is now a reality, and amazingly Charley has acquired the same vision and dream that Sam had originally acquired as a child.

Sam & Charley have had many happy years together & many amazing years of being Alpha members of the pack.
Their ‘Fur Kids’ are thriving, and they have very healthy and happy pups in many, many U.S. states as well as abroad.
The pups and resulting adult dogs are proving themselves not only as fantastic companions & service (guide) dogs, but also in the show ring as well as in a working environment.

With the Siberian Huskies they produce in their breeding program……it’s no wonder that people from all over the globe are interested in their glorious ‘Fur Babies’.
